Software Developers (ongoing)
Rangespan is always on the lookout for world-class Software Developers to join our technology team. Ideal candidates are seeking a broad, varied, and hands-on role and bring the pragmatism and maturity necessary to manage their own day-to-day responsibilities.

Specific qualifications include:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in design, development, and operational responsibility for large-scale RESTful web services
- Proficiency in Python, Django and Amazon Web Services
- Proficiency in both relational and non-relational databases (i.e. MySQL and MongoDB)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Ability to attract additional world-class software developers
Data Scientists (ongoing)
Data science is the heart and soul of Rangespan’s product, and is essential to its success. Data Scientists at Rangespan are helping to build the world's largest catalog and most efficient order management system. Typical projects include application of machine learning techniques (categorisation & ranking), statistics (time series prediction), natural language processing (information extraction), information retrieval and more.
In this role, candidates will be working on incredibly complex mathematical problems, with a large amount of unpredictability. You will develop sophisticated algorithms using modern statistical and machine learning methods, and also build the production systems that deliver them on a massive scale in a cloud environment.

- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Mining or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience across machine learning, data-driven statistical modeling, forecasting and data mining algorithms, and statistical analysis.
- Strong proficiency in both relational and non-relational databases (i.e. MySQL and MongoDB)
- Highly fluent in Python and either C++ or Java
- Ability to attract additional world-class data and computer scientists
Product Manager, Supplier Development
Rangespan is looking for a Product Manager for new categories to help launch and build its product footprint. This extremely broad role is critical to the success of Rangespan. This position is responsible for growing the top and bottom lines of the product category and for building vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, expanding the product range, developing the product catalogue, managing operational integration, and monitoring and reacting to industry and competitive trends. The role will work closely with the founders in establishing a world-class organization.
To ensure the candidate is successful, he or she must be able to:
- Act as a true owner of the category
- Think strategically and tactically
- Integrate analysis and merchandising instinct into a cohesive category strategy
- Recognize and recommend opportunities to improve the customer shopping experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large scale projects at one time
- Negotiation of contracts, cost prices and marketing support
- Have demonstrated strong communication and negotiation skills
- Developing sustainable relationships with vendors to understand product development roadmaps, market trends and other opportunities
- Manage the supply base day to day, including maximizing availability, minimizing returns, improving service levels, etc.
- Recruit and set up new vendors
- Analyze range selection from vendors and in the broader market place to ensure all available products are represented on site
- Manage new line process across vendors and the broader team
- Understand market pricing and ensure offers are in line with key competition
- Contribute to system development to support core buying processes, and participate in training and implementations

Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor or MBA degree required
- Ability to analyze large data sets to make strategic decisions
- Strong negotiation experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with building peer and commercial relationships

Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced training in quantitative analysis
- Understanding of merchandising metrics including financials
- Demonstrated success with a multi-channel or online retailer
Product Manager, Operations
Rangespan is looking for a Product Manager, Operations to lead its operations and customer experience capabilities. The role is responsible for developing, deploying and continually improving our operational processes across supplier fulfillment, customer support, transportation, and product returns.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing operational integration plans for suppliers and retailers
- Stress testing integrations
- Creating, implementing, and acting upon key performance indicators
- Negotiating and managing third-party logistics relationships
- Designing, maintaining, and improving internal processes in support of customer services
- Identifying operational and transportation efficiencies to reduce system wide costs
- Proposing technology development plans to automate and scale key tasks
- Ensuring direct customer feedback is incorporated across the company to improve the customer experience
- Recognize and recommend opportunities to improve the customer shopping experience
In addition, the role will work closely with the founders in establishing a world-class organization. This role is extremely broad and hands-on. It will have a direct and material impact on the success of Rangespan.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor or MBA degree required
- Demonstrated success in establishing and improving operational processes
- Strong negotiation skills
- Expertise in process improvement (i.e. operational excellence, six sigma, etc.)
- Experience analyzing large data sets to make strategic decisions
